Hot Springs, AR—West Florida made it three in a row, easing past the nine-team field and capturing the 2008 Gulf South Conference Women's Golf Title at the 2008 Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield/GSC Tournament at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, AR.
UWF increased its first-day lead of 19 strokes to 26 at the end of the Monday's Second Round, thanks to a Second Round 309 en route to a first-place total of 624 (+48). The Argonauts recorded the Tournament's two highest rounds, including today's Tournament-best 309.
Montevallo turned in its highest-ever finish, placing second (650), just one stroke ahead of Henderson State which ranked third for the second straight year (651). Harding posted its best-ever GSC Tournament finish, ranking fourth (669). Arkansas Tech (682) rounded out the Top Five, while West Georgia (693), Christian Brothers (790), Southern Arkansas (899) and Arkansas-Monticello (1,017) completed the field.
West Florida led the way on the All-Tournament team with three honorees, led by GSC Individual Champion Natalia Espinosa, who fired a combined +8, 152. HSU's Jenna Chadwick placed second (+10, 154), while UWF duo Meaghan Gulliksen and Bhavna Shetty tied for third (+12, 156). Completing the All-Tournament team was UM's Morgan Bell (+13, 157) and Emily Gibson (+15, 159).
