UWF led all teams with a +62, 638

Hot Springs, AR—West Florida made it four in a row, easing past the nine-team field and capturing the 2009 Gulf South Conference Women's Golf Title at the 2009 Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield/GSC Tournament at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, AR.

UWF held off a Second Round comeback by second-place Henderson State, completing the 36-hole event with a +62, 638. The Argonauts shot a Tournament-best 315 in yesterday's first round and held on in day two with a 323. HSU turned in its highest-ever finish, placing second (+74, 650), followed by Montevallo (652) which finished just strokes behind the Lady Reddies thanks to a final round 317.

West Georgia ranked fourth (657), while Arkansas Tech (685) rounded out the Top Five for the second straight year. Harding (691), Southern Arkansas (691), Christian Brothers (785) and Arkansas-Monticello (1,074) completed the field.

West Florida and Henderson State led the way on the All-Tournament Team, each placing two players. UWF's Bhavna Shetty collected GSC Individual Champion laurels, shooting a +10, 154, led by a Tournament-best 75 on Sunday. HSU's Jenna Araco and UWG's Michelle Meher tied for second-place (+14, 158), while UWF's Natalia Espinosa and HSU's Janie Redfearn rounded out the squad with third place efforts (+15, 159).

The All-GSC Women's Golf Teams will be announced on Wednesday, April 22nd.
