EAST DIVISION
Alabama-Huntsville outfielder Kristina Prater (Jr., 5-5, Athens, Ala.) is the player of the week in the East. Prater had a huge week, lacing hits and scoring runs as Alabama-Huntsville went 4-0 to clinch the second seed in the East. The junior was 9-for-15, and had at least two hits in every game she played in. Prater scored eight runs while knocking in five of her own. She also connected for a homer and stole a base for the Chargers.
Valdosta State's Brianna Collis (Sr., 5-5, Port Coquitlam, BC) wins the hurler's award this week. Collis had a perfect ERA (0.00), pitching 2.2 crucial innings for Valdosta State. She picked up the win against UWF that vaulted the Blazers to an East Division crown for the first time since 2007. Collis punched out four and didn't allow a hit in that outing.
WEST DIVISION
Arkansas-Monticello first baseman Kayla Jackson (Fr., 5-9, Hallsville, Texas) is the West Division award winner for the second straight week. Jackson swung a big stick during Arkansas-Monticello's 12-game week. The freshman had 34 at bats, reching safely in 17 of them (.500 OBP). She had at least two hits in five contests, including a 5-for-5 performance in a 8-7 win over Henderson State. Jackson had nine RBIs, four doubles and scored two runs for UAM.
Casey Hammons of Arkansas Tech (Jr., 5-6, Carthage, Texas) wins this week's pitcher's honor for the fourth time this year. Hammons took the bump for 20 innings, and didn't give up a single run during that span. The junior had 13 punchouts, and picked up three wins for ATU. Hammons gave up just three hits in the four games she saw action.
